How Team BuffMother has impacted Lisa’s life:

I spent most of my 20′s yo yo dieting, trying the latest fads and gimmicks. In December 2004, I realized how out of control my weight had gotten, weighing in at 204lbs. I didn’t want to be fat anymore. I was depressed, had no self esteem, self conscious and hated the way I looked. So I embarked on a journey to change my life. I needed something long lasting this time. I began researching fitness and nutrition. I started changing my eating habits and exercising. I did very little weight training however, until I found Michelle and the Buffmother girls! I had always thought weight training was for guys and I didn’t want to get bulky. It changed my life. My goals and focus shifted and I ventured into a new journey, to be a BuffMother! I wouldn’t have made it this far without the inspiration and direction from Michelle and the Buffmother team. I lost a total of 76lbs and went from a size 18/20 to a 4/6. I am stronger, more confident and healthier than I have ever been. I am still a work in progress, but look forward to what the future holds! Thank you Michelle!

All-Star August!!

My August Fitness Goals:

  • Take pics and stats ASAP
  • Get back to lifting at least 4 days a week
  • Keep up with my sprinting- 2x’s a week
  • Get back to some MMA training :)

AUGUST will be GO TIME!!

  • Aug 2nd my girls start school! I have 2nd and 3rd graders now!! wow!!
  • August 9th we’ll start our next Team BuffMother! “challenge”- a shorter 30 day one
  • August 19th Gunner starts Middle School~ wow he’s so old!!
  • August is my Anniversary month- August 28th… so that’s my personal Fitness focus! To be HOT for my 17th wedding anniversary.
  • August will also be the start of Football training and pre-season for my son and the Pros :) GO VIKES!

August will be a good Month!!

Get a Goal!

I HIT my legs hard today….time to prep for my annual Birthday shoot!! Just 38 days away~ I’m gonna be ripped!! What’s your pressing goal??

If you don’t have a goal or if you are afraid to get a goal think about this….

If you don’t press towards the positive, towards the light, towards the solution, towards improvement, towards a GOAL,  what is the point? We all fail at times- but that doesn’t mean we are failures, you only fail if you don’t  keep trying to succeed! Be brave get a goal!! What’s other option is there??

This weekend we’ll be watching the UFC PPV~ I just love MMA!!  I’ve not been training MMA anymore or doing much “wild” stuff recently due to my back/butt/sciatic injury that’s been bothering me since the end of November. I hope to get back to it “someday”, it was so fun …. For now I’ve just been focusing on trying to stay/get healthy :)

My workout last night was short and sweet– just 11mins or so of “stuff” at about 9pm- So my EVERY DAY IN MAY streak is still alive!!
got in my “every day in May”!! A short one: push ups, lunges, shoulder press, lateral raises, cats & stretchin’!

Today’s workout was a really good leg workout-
Squated- did 6 sets- my top 2 sets were 155x6reps
Deads- did 2 sets of 20 @95#- next time I’ll up the weights
Calfs
Smith Lunges- 5 sets of these 3 sets @100#x10 reps- I’ll up weights next time on these too!
lower back extensions- still doing these w/no weight- plan to add weight next leg day
leg extensions- had to do these a bit lighter than usual due to a BRUISE on my shin- I dropped a 25# plate on my shin last weekend- Don’t do that!
Ab wheels
Knee ups

I am off for the afternoon to have lunch with the DH~ we never ened up playing tennis this week…maybe tomorrow??

40 days to FIT!! Day 18… Q&A!

Hi all~ today is “Tired Thursday” and day 18 of our 40 days to FIT and day 19 of my cycle~ which means it’s time to BOOST!!  I finished off my buffing phase nicely at 127~ that’s a good weight for me considering I am on Creatine.  I feel lean…at the gym I could see lots of definition in my shoulders and arms and abs!!  FUN to see what’s “under there” and Fun to know the CREATINE is working!!

Hey,Wow – you are such an inspiration to me. Please, please tell me what your daily nutrition is like–I would just love to know what you eat in a day’s time.

Also, your ab routine – would you please share!! I know we are all different, but I had two kids back-to-back (15 months apart). After my first child was born, my stomach went straight back to normal, but when my 9 pound son was born, he really did a number on me. I guess my stomach couldn’t take it so close together. I have flat abs now and I don’t mind working them, but the skin doesn’t look that hot. I have gotten it a lot tighter, but w/o having an abdominoplasty, I would like to see if I could take it to a higher level. Could you just look at my pictures, possibly, and give me any suggestions??? I would appreciate it so MUCH!!

HI!!

Thanks for the compliments Cindy~ You are really kicking tail…I love what you wrote in your profile about not being too old to get results (BTW-  47 is NOT OLD!!)… You are right on!!!

…I know how frustrated you must be with your tummy, but just look at how much it HAS improved. I can see that you still have room for improvement in your progress pics for sure.

As for advice there are 2 things~

  1. lift heavy often…all the while keeping your tummy tight and engaged
  2. do abs DAILY!

Other than that…I’ve written a book “After Baby ABS” that contains my secret recipe to great abs~ I am sure you would find it helpful.

Keep working hard, your tummy will improve more and more…once you get another 3-4 months of HARD ab training under your belt, you will get a better picture of if you really have to have a tummy tuck~ that surgery is NASTY and I’d consider it a “last resort”.

As for diet-
