I entered the Super Star Success contest because I was ready for a true change. I have weighed the same almost my entire life (or since high school anyway) but I have never lifted weights! I have run several half marathons, spent hours on end in cardio classes at the gym and never seen a difference in my body! It was time for a change. Michelle was so inspiring knowing she has had 4 kids including a set of twins! I love the strong lean look and I could never get there. I was always so fearful of bulking up because that is what we are taught as little girls!

The tactics I used were for starters THE RALLY ROOM! I could not have done it without that accountability! I blogged a ton and that helped me so much to stay accountable! Everyone was very helpful and encouraging through both good and bad times! The second tactic was my Buff Trainer-Deb Gray! SHE WAS AMAZING! She was very patient as she tried to explain the different things she wanted me to do and how to do them. She was truly excellent—thanks Deb! I feel like she was a great trainer but also a great friend! We got to talk and pray for each other which was such a blessing!

I feel REALLY GREAT about my success. I think images and stats show the changes I have made in my body. For someone who has been a workout freak her entire life and NEVER seen a difference—this was so huge for me! I truly feel great about my accomplishments! I worked out 5-6 every week (except my trip to NYC) and I totally changed what I ate but didn’t have to starve myself! I actually felt more full with all the protein!

I had one big obstacle and that was my breast lump. I went thru a painful biopsy but with good results!! Again, I had the RR and Deb to pray me through it and encourage me to stop and smell the roses in my life.

Buffmother is a true inspiration to me! I tell EVERYONE about Buffmother and the changes I have made in myself! It is crazy to have a friend walk up to you after not seeing you in 4 weeks and ask “What are you doing—you look amazing!” I always just say, “You have to go check out Buffmother—she is my true inspiration.” The thing that I like most about Michelle (besides the fact that she has truly discovered the secret to a great body AFTER KIDS) is the fact that she is real! She has good days and bad days…she has sick kids..she makes mistakes..but she is just so real about it all! You can tell she is close to God and very content with where He has placed her and the job he gave her to reach as many women as she can! Thanks Michelle.

Is it ever Okay to have a pity party??

Is it ever okay to have a pity party??

“NO!”

All it does is make things worse~ giving that kind of energy to the negative doesn’t solve anything! It only makes the problems bigger and more complicated and more damaging etc….

RESIST the urge to fall into the pity party trap!!!! If you feel one coming on- STOP it and do a 360 degree turn around by listing all the positives you can focus on instead. Get your mojo moving in the right direction.  If you can master this one thing you will move forward towards an excellent life!

“Blessed is the WOMAN who perseveres under trial, because when she has stood the test, she will receive the crown…” ~James 1:12

Don’t think I am preaching at you- I have to remind myself of these same concepts too~

Time to get to accomplishing for the week:

Plan of ATTACK:
M-steady run outside”day 15 of 30 day GET BUFF”- day off, but I’m gonna make up day 13′s workout- I missed it.
T-day 16 workout with extra emphasis to glutes- add butt squats
W-run buffing intervals (Day 17) and couple sprints at the end
Th- day 18 lifting heavy day
F-run SPRINTS!!!
Sa-our anniversary 17 years!! OFF??
Sun- off

see ya later babes!!

Tomorrow is the DAY! that Travis and I will have a DATE! We have not had kidless time alone in the recent months~ so it’ll be our day to go out and play while the kiddos are in school!!  I’m excited!!  We want to go out for breakfast or coffee and do a bit of shopping!

Tomorrow is the DAY! that I get to talk with the contest team again!! We skipped our July conference call due to “SUMMER” – so it’s been a couple months! I’m FIRED UP to connect again and get our ladies on the STAGE!

Tomorrow is the DAY! that I will get my AC fixed, I hope!! It will be NICE!

Tomorrow is the DAY! that the girls get to “try” gymnastics class~ they all can be in the same group- so that’s good!! It should be fun!

Tomorrow is the DAY! I get to start the 2nd third of our “30 days GET BUFF” contest!! I’ve had great results to this point and plan to PUSH HARD toward the finish!! 1/3 done, 2/3 to go!!! LET’S GO!!! “30 days to Buff”- Day 11

~~~~~~~~~
To keep you up to speed- my last 3 days have panned out as follows:
Monday- cday 10-Weight 126-Tennis for 1.5 hours with Travis
Tues- cday 11-Weight 127-mish mosh workout with some squats in the early afternoon- late afternoon run 10 mins then lower body @gym
Wed-cday 12-Weight 127-I met a friend for a workout at 8:30am!~ can you believe that I did it that early??  LOL! we did upper body- chest press, lat pulls, incline chest press, seated rows and abs- then at 11 Travis and I played tennis for 2 hours- I was killing it!! LOVE IT!!
I feel really great and have been eating very well- my favorite eats have been: egg whites with pico, frozen blueberries/water and natural choc protein powder in a shake (thank you magic bullet), pickles and peanut butter, green beans with garlic, broccoli slaw salad with turkey and cashewes and some dressing, carrots…
I ovulate around day 10-12 each month- so the weight being up to 127 from 126 is totally NO BIGGIE!! I know I am working hard with stellar focus and within 2 days I’ll see NEW LOWS on the scale!! I love Hormonal Timing!!!
anyhow~ Have a super night and an even better TOMORROW!!!!
“All Star” Dayle of ID
Dayle of ID
Meet BuffMother! Dayle of ID!
_
Dayle of ID
I wanted to see where I could take my body and mind with a more committed mindset. I wanted to lower my BF% and lose 10 lbs. I also wanted to show ladies that they CAN fit fitness into their busy schedules (and even at home) whether they are a stay-at-home mom, single mom, working mom…whatever. I reached all but 1 of these goals (I only lost 7.5 lbs.) I proved to myself that when I set my mind to something that I CAN DO IT no matter what life stresses come my way.
This challenge underlined the fact that achieving a healthy body is not all about vanity; it can benefit you in more ways than one can ever imagine. This challenge showed me just how powerful my mind is. I was determined to be both mentally and physically strong during my time spent in Oklahoma. When my dad was still alive but was quickly deteriorating, I told myself that I HAD to continue to workout and take care of myself so I could physically help my mom with housework and physically help my dad if he fell or needed help walking or if he needed to be moved in his bed. When I went back for the second time I told myself that I HAD to continue to workout to keep me mentally strong and to channel my feelings into my workouts in order to keep me sane and keep me strong for my family.
My girls saw me continue to work out no matter what was going on. They were able to see me fit my healthy habits into my daily grind just as I would any other daily task. Now after they wake up and get dressed, part of their before school tasks is to do 5 minutes of exercise!
Why did you enter the SSS contest by BuffMother?
To get back on track…I had been getting the workouts in but not as consistent or as INTENSE as I used to and it shows!!  Not only was I feeling sluggish and non-motivated but my lack of BUFFNESS had resulted in a loss of muscle tone and a gain of about 10 lbs. since December ’08!!  I joined the contest because I needed the committment to accountability and the support of the RR to achieve my goals.   This was also my first challenge BC *FREE* and I was excited to see what changes were ahead of me…good or bad.
What tactics did you use to stay focused and engaged for the entire 70 days?
KathyK and I either texted or emailed our POA’s to each other daily.  I returned to more consistent blogging and changed the tone of my blogs to document more of my eating plans.  I had my DH join me for the first half of the SSS and I loved the support and the togetherness.   I also fed off of the new energy!  There are many new RR members that are in their BuffMother “honeymoon” phase and it was energizing!
How do you feel about your success?  I feel great!  I did not make much physical change (and actually suprised that I did actually go down a few inches) but I am super excited about the other changes…my consistency was back and my eats had a major shift!  I went from working out off and on to scheduling it into my daily life again.  It also seemed like all of a sudden the eating part just clicked!  I was choosing foods because I wanted to, not because I felt like I had to buckle down because of a contest.  For several weeks I ate 90% clean every day with only 1 big cheat meal for the week!  That is *HUGE* for me.  The eats clicked mentally for me this time!  WOOHOO!
What obstacles did you have to overcome in order to attain your goals?
Can you say FT job, 2 kids and a husband?  I am not special in any way…I am not unlike any other woman, but I do have a lot to juggle and the inconsistency with balance, lack of energy and overscheduling myself contributed to why I lost the muscle and gained the 10 lbs. over the past year.  Jeff worked out with me for the first few weeks of the SSS.  I used to always workout on my own so this gave me a different kind of motivation.  After about 5 weeks Jeff got really sick and had to take some time off…he never really got back in.  I never realized how much I depended on his presence during workouts until he was gone.  Honestly, I think that was when my workouts got a little sluggish.
What would you like to tell the world about BuffMother?
I would like for women to know that HT is the key to unlocking their potential!  You ARE different and that is alright!  With HT you learn to listen to your body and respect your hormones!  Stop looking for quick fixes, the pills and the surgeries.  YOU can do this! YOU can make these changes and you want to tell people that YOU did this!  Earn this!  This is why I love BuffMother.  It is something you can put hard work into and earn all on your own!
